I purchased my vehicle, a 2019 Audi TTS for $40k, with more than half as a down-payment. It was an out of state purchase. At first, I was reluctant to buy from out of state. I should have gone with my gut.
The process leading up to the purchase went smoothly. Of course it did, right? Mr T was my sales guy. He was really helpful until he wasn't. The shipping or transport company was hired by the dealership, and I paid the costs - in more ways than one. I was out of town when it arrived. I had my dad sign for it.
And from that point the whole experience turned into an ordeal. The delivery guy shows up driving my car - he had jumper cables with him. Per the delivery guy the car wouldn't start without a jump. The battery was bad. Also, one of the wheels was damaged (curb rash), and 1 of the fobs was missing. The delivery guy swore up and down he was only given a single fob. And right before the car shipped, the dealership DID send me a picture of 2 fobs.
After nearly 2 months of going back and forth with the dealership, they compensated me for the repair cost of the damaged wheel and the replacement battery. They denied me compensation for the missing fob. I was told that the problem was that I signed after the vehicle delivery. Lesson learned, on my part.
And just like that, I was out $1k for a replacement fob. Then, there was still some back and forth communications with Kendall. I finally offered to settle for half the cost, and from there, my messages went ignored.
